Moldova

Although not even 2 flying hours away from Vienna, Moldova is by far the poorest country in Europe. Two of us have been in Ceadir Lunga in the south of the country and visited the project “Gloria” as early as March 2010 to work for a social project run by a German organization. Frankly speaking, it was shocking to see how the majority of the people are living there: most houses have neither proper windows nor a heating system which is particularly severe in winter where temperatures can easily fall below -30° C; schools, kindergartens and hospitals are poorly equipped. Seeing this, it was obvious that we wanted to support the people down there as well as we could.

So we started to collect in-kind donations. We are still urgently looking for things like school (e.g. desks or chairs), kindergarten, IT (e.g. computers or notebooks), or medical equipment for hospitals or private practices.
